Advocacy and Public Policy

AAUW members Issue advocacy isn’t just about AAUW lending its name to an issue, or speaking up on Capitol Hill. Issue advocacy is about AAUW members and all citizens concerned with equity being knowledgeable and aware of the current status of important issues. AAUW’s federal policy agenda builds upon more than a century of advocacy by AAUW members at the local, state, national and international levels. Our agenda strives to break through economic and educational barriers so all women and girls have a fair chance; and moves us closer to true economic and educational equity for all.
