AAUW is a community that breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women have a fair chance. Your membership makes AAUW’s powerful voice even stronger on critical issues affecting women and girls. If you are still considering the worth of membership for yourself, scroll down this page to read the “Value of AAUW.”
Membership is open to anyone holding an associate or equivalent (RN), baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Student Membership is open to anyone who is enrolled in a two- or four-year regionally accredited educational institution.
A list of member schools is available on the National website
AAUW Lakewood dues are $83.00 for regular members. Our fiscal year is July 1 through June 30. New members joining after March 15 pay $83 for membership though June 30 of the following year (a potential 15 1/2 month membership for the one year price).
Dual members belong to more than one branch and pay branch dues for each membership, as well as state dues for one or both of the memberships. If both memberships are in the same state, then only one payment of state dues is required. If memberships are in different states, then dues must be paid to each state.
An AAUW National Life Membership allows a member to pay $1180.00 for 20 years of National dues in one lump sum that is fully tax deductible. In addition, they would also pay state and branch dues on a yearly basis. Members who have paid dues for 50
years are granted Honorary Life Membership, and National and State membership dues are waived. Memberships are transferable to and from other AAUW branches.
For more information about AAUW Lakewood Branch membership and to receive a membership application, please contact our Membership Vice President at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Leadership development and educational opportunities
AAUW offers educational programs that promote gender, race, and class equity and help you develop your professional and personal skills. Programs are offered at conventions, in interactive workshops, in print, and online.
Increased buying power
Because of the increased buying power of a large group, AAUW can provide services designed exclusively for members such as quality insurance plans, including a dental plan and a health plan specifically tailored to meet the needs of women; AAUW’s First USA Platinum Visa card, which features a competitive rate and no annual fee; discounts on AAUW research and merchandise; and more! Savings from these programs will more than equal your yearly dues.
